About the Gallery:
Green Mountain Fine Art is an art business inspired by the rugged terrain and subtle beauty of its Stowe, Vermont setting. Nestled in the heart of this historic New England village in the midst of the Green Mountains, it draws from the deep pool of richly talented artists resident in the region to make unique original artworks available to visitors from throughout the world.
The Gallery is located in a historic federal style building that is a contributing structure to Stowe, Vermont's National Historic District. Built in 1828, it was earliest attributed to Dr. D.D. Grout, who used it as his residence, the barn behind as a stable, and the building next door as his doctor's office. It is a classical post and beam structure with extensive wide-board square-nailed floors and classical features such as highly symmetrical window patterns and broad presentation to the streetscape.
The grounds are highly landscaped, and are connected to the Straw Corner Shops on the Mountain Road side of the building. A sculpture garden is located in the Straw Corner area, a pleasant place to browse and relax!
Sandra and Scott Noble established Green Mountain Fine Art in 2001, drawing upon their lifetimes of experiences and educations in both the art and business worlds, to create this uniquely diverse gallery in Stowe, Vermont. Sandra is a lifelong watercolorist and art educator, whereas Scott is an investment management professional, real estate manager and owner.
A wide variety of artwork is represented by the Gallery, ranging from highly representational landscapes to beautiful abstract works. Media represented include watercolors, oils, pastels, prints, mixed media and photography. Three-dimensional artworks are also displayed, both within the Gallery and on its spacious grounds.
Most artwork is presented in professional quality frames with archival matting and glass. Limited edition giclee prints of original artworks by the same artists are also available.
Green Mountain Fine Art also displays the artwork of its featured artists in the Mozart Room and the St. George's Hall of the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe.
